It was very gratifying to last night be awarded the Rotary District 9455 Communications Award, for best Rotary Club communications (including the club bulletin, website and social media).
We (the Rotary Club of Freshwater Bay) have won this award for 3 of the past 4 years. As the webmaster since the club’s inception, one of the two main people managing our Facebook page, and the bulletin editor in recent years, it’s delightful to know that my hard work is recognised as effective!
Since Rotary District 9455 will cease to exist after the end of this month, being replaced with a new Rotary District, I get to keep this trophy rather than handing it back! It will go alongside another perpetual trophy, from the previous Rotary District (9450), for Best Article in the Rotary Down Under Magazine, an award which wasn’t continued in 9455.
